FAQ

Are all the camps located on the Cal campus?

Yes, all instructions are conducted on Cal athletic facilities located on the University of California, Berkeley campus in Berkeley, California. Campers will use the various fields our women's team uses throughout the year!

What does each camper receive?

Each summer camper receives a camp t-shirt.

Do half-day campers need to bring a snack and/or lunch?

All half-day campers should bring a snack for our break time.  The full-day campers must bring a sack lunch daily and snacks.

Does my child need to bring his or her own water?

Water and Gatorade stations will be placed on the field and water will always be available for the campers. However, we strongly encourage all our campers to bring their own water bottle to fill up.

What happens if my child is injured or sick during camp?

Qualified trainers will be on duty for the duration of all camps to care for minor injuries and illness. Parents or guardians will be contacted immediately if there is a serious injury or a child needs to leave camp early for a medical reason. Please make a notation on the medical portion of your registration if there is any medical condition we should be aware of in advance of the camper's attendance to our camps. Our athletic trainer will be available for questions on the first day of each camp and throughout the week.

If it rains, will camp be cancelled?

No, the camps will not be cancelled.

CANCELLATION POLICY:

There is a $50 non-refundable deposit. If you cancel 24 hours or less before the start of camp, you will not be granted a refund. If you cancel 45 days or less before the start of camp, you will be charged 50% of your registration. If you cancel 45 days or more before the start of camp, you will be granted a full refund, except the $50 deposit.

What should I bring to camp, and what should I wear?

Players are strongly recommended to wear shin-guards and cleats (unless told turf shoes/tennis shoes are required for that particular camp). Players should wear shorts and a T-shirt, but should pack something warm to wear in case of cooler weather or rain. Day campers should also bring a snack or lunch. The California sun is very hot and we highly recommend the use of sun block. Please be sure to bring enough clothes and socks for the entire camp. Campers will not have access to laundry facilities. Overnight campers are supplied with sheets, a blanket, a pillow and towels, please bring any other toiletries they may need. A camper information packet will be emailed to you approximately 2 weeks prior to camp which contains a detailed listing of what you will need to bring to camp.

How can I reserve a space in the Junior or College ID Academy?

Campers may reserve a space with a $100 deposit along with their registration. There are a limited number of spaces available during each camp.

My child is a goalkeeper. Will you have goalkeeper coaches for his or her specialized training?

Our three "Day Camps" in the summer do not have specified goalkeeper training, but all of our other camps do! The Junior Academy, College ID, GK/Striker camp all have specific goalkeeper instruction.

Are there any group discounts?

Yes. If you have a team of ten or more, you will receive a 10% discount. Once your ten players sign up, please email californiasoccercamps@gmail.com and they will add the discount to the families accounts and their credit card will be refunded the 10%.

What airport is best to fly into?

Oakland is closest, but San Francisco is also an option.

Do you offer a shuttle service to take campers to and from the airport?

No, but we will recommend a shuttle service.

Are campers required to wear the apparel they are given?

Each camper can wear any soccer equipment they wish.

Do the campers receive a written evaluation?

Yes, those campers participating in our College ID & Junior Academy summer overnight camps will receive a written evaluation form from their head camp counselor on the final day of camp.

Can I request a roommate? Can friends have a room near each other?

Yes, we try to honor roommate requests in nearly every case. Both campers must request each other. We will also try to locate friends near each other if possible.

Will I receive notification that I've been accepted into the camp?

Yes, a confirmation email will be sent to you immediately following registration from the Active registration company. If you haven't received a confirmation email, please email us at californiasoccercamps@gmail.com so we can begin investigating the problem.
